Was I rude not to tip the cleaning lady?

cleaning tip
chinno98 asked:

I had a cleaning lady here for about 2 hours to do a basic tidy. She didn’t even mop the bathroom floor and when she was done waiting for her ride she saw me wiping off the cabinets from finderprints/dirt and didn’t even offer to help. She answered a few phone calls as well while she was working.
I paid by credit card but never signed anything(they said it would be charged today).. I was going to give her a tip but never got around to it.

Not rude. Tips are always optional, unless otherwise stated in the contract. She obviously didn’t earn a tip that day.

no way she did rubbish job

You’re not rude at all, she got paid for what she did, and based on what you said, I think she did a crappy job. But, that’s just my opinion.

If you have to redo what she did, why the hell do you want to tip her? Tip yourself, and buy something nice.
