What is the best laundry detergent to use – that will make my laundry smell nice?

When I take my laundry out of the washer, I can smell the laundry detergent A LITTLE but once I take it out of the dryer, I can hardly smell the laundry detergent or the dryer sheets. My washer and dryer is about 10 years old but still in a very good condition. Do you think servicing the machines will help??
I swear by Gain, ORIGINAL SCENT, I don’t like the other fruity ones I want my clothes to smell good and clean! I also use GAIN fabric softener or SNUGGLE fabric softener with GAIN dryer sheets…I am very picky about being able to smell my clothes when they come out fo the dryer. Another thing that could be hindering your clothes from the fresh clean smell is Drying them too long, if you have a line you can hang your clothes if not, try not to dry them with the highest heat, that burn the smell right out.
